Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates shared his thoughts on sustainability and India's pivotal role in addressing climate change in a recent interview with Times Now. Gates praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for actively engaging in environmental issues and promoting innovation among Indian industrialists. He said, "I am very pleased that he prioritises health and is really speaking out about that.
Also, when the government's doing well he likes that to be measured and acknowledged but then you know whenever the numbers don't work he's very impatient...he's like do I need to pick another team or how do I drive it and he asks people at ICMR, NITI Aayog who he's saying to them what are the best practices in their area."
Highlighting India’s importance in scaling up sustainable solutions, Gates emphasised the need for global support in helping India transition to green energy without excessive financial burdens. He acknowledged the challenges in reducing coal usage and stressed the urgency of innovation to drive progress.
