Meat seller shot dead in Muzaffarpur district

PATNA: Two bike-borne assailants gunned down a 27-year-old meat seller near Nakulwa Chowk under Mithanpura police station area in

Muzaffarpur district

on Wednesday morning. The incident took place when Mohammad Afroz left his home for the meat shop. The miscreants followed him for some distance and later shot him dead.
According to police, a large number of people gathered on the spot on hearing the gunfire and blocked the traffic at Nakulwa Chowk.

Town ASP, Awadhesh Dixit, SHO Rakesh Kumar along with the police team soon reached there, pacified the agitating family members, and sent the body for post-mortem at the Sadar Hospital.
The entire murder incident has been captured in a nearby CCTV camera. In the video, Afroz is seen walking towards his shop. After some time, two miscreants comes on a bike and shot him twice from their moving bike and ran away, said town ASP, Awadhesh Dixit.
He said, "Afroz has no criminal history. However, he had been to jail earlier in a minor case of assault. Prima facie, the murder seems to be an outcome of old enmity with his friends over some issue. The police are investigating the matter from all angles. The case will be solved and the accused will be arrested soon."
