Martin Luther King Day transit service changes in NYC and NJ

NEW YORK (PIX11) – If you’re making plans for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday you may want to check for service changes on your local train or bus.

Some mass transit options will continue on a normal schedule but other agencies have announced changes to Monday’s service.

More Local News

New York City subways, the LIRR and the Staten Island Railway will operate on a regular weekday schedule, according to the MTA.

Buses, however, will run on a modified weekday schedule while Metro-North trains operate on an expanded Saturday schedule. 

For Garden State residents, NJ Transit rail service will run on an enhanced weekend schedule with additional trains during peak periods.

Light rail services will operate on weekend and holiday schedules. 

PATH commuters can expect trains to run on a modified Saturday schedule. Port Authority officials advise checking departure times online.
