NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is issuing a recall reminder for Gerber Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks after reports it was still being sold in stores and online after an initial recall in January.
The strawberry apple flavor and banana flavor of the Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks were previously recalled because of a potential choking hazard for infants and young children, according to the FDA. Gerber has also since initiated a discontinuation of the product.
The items were sold in stores nationwide and online. Those who purchased the products are advised to return them for a refund and contact a doctor if they're concerned about illness or injury.
Some consumers have reported choking incidents due to the product and at least one emergency room visit has been reported, according to the FDA's website.
