Man tried to sexually assault woman in Central Park: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Police are searching for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman who was sunbathing in Central Park on Monday afternoon, according to police and sources.

The incident happened near West Drive and 104th Street at around 1:35 p.m. The 22-year-old woman was sunbathing by herself when the suspect came up from behind and jumped on top of her, sources said. The victim fought him off and suffered minor injuries.

Police are canvassing the park after the suspect fled the scene, officials said. There have been no arrests.
