Man ends life after wife refuses money for liquor in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: A 33-year-old man

hanged himself

from a ceiling fan allegedly after his wife refused him 500 for consuming alcohol. The incident was reported in Gudivada town of Krishna district. It is said that the man was in an inebriated state when he committed suicide.
According to local police, the deceased was identified as Sheikh Kanna Saheb, a native of Chebrolu village in Unguturu mandal in Eluru district.

He had moved to Karmika Nagar with his wife and children about four years ago. He worked as a daily wage labourer here.
Kanna Saheb's children had been to their relatives' house for teh Makar Sankranti holidays. On Wednesday, his wife went to bring the kids home.
Kanna Saheb was an alcoholic. He had earlier taken a loan of 2,500 from his employer and given the amount to his wife.

Before his wife left for their relatives' house On Wednesday, Kanna Saheb had asked her to give him 500 and she denied. This led to a heated argument between the couple and the man threatened his wife with dire consequences. However, after his wife left, Kanna Saheb borrowed money from another acquaintance and consumed alcohol.
On Thursday night, when his wife returned home with the children, she found the main door was locked. She asked some neighbours for help and they came together to break the door open. On entering into the house, the woman found her husband's body hanging from the ceiling fan.

Gudivada One Town police registered a case and are currently investigating into the matter.
