Man dies after setting himself on fire near Manhattan park: NYPD

LOWER MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A man died after setting himself on fire near a Manhattan park early Thursday morning, police said.

The incident happened near East 16th Street and Rutheford Place by Stuyvesant Park at around 2:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The man died at the scene. It was unclear he set himself on fire.
