NEW YORK (PIX11) – A Long Island man was arrested Friday for allegedly concealing a human corpse, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Ronald Schroeder, 31, is believed to have a connection to the human remains found in a suitcase in a wooded area next to a building in Huntington on Long Island Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Seikeya Jones on Thursday. Jones is believed to have been homeless, authorities said.
Schroeder, a Huntington resident, was arrested at 1 Pennsylvania Plaza at 1:55 p.m., police said
Schroeder is facing the following charges:
- Concealment of a corpse
- Having an active bench warrant.
- And criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.
The suspect is being held overnight at the third precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, police said
