Kanna Ravi, the notable Tamil actor, is popular for his
roles
in the
films
'Kaithi', 'Mandela', 'Rathasaatchi', and others.
Kanna Ravi
is next playing the main role in the romantic drama '
Lover
', and the film is slated to release in theatres tomorrow (February 9). Ahead of the film release, Kanna Ravi interacted with ETimes in an exclusive chat to share some insights and his experience working for the film.
"I was shocked when I revisited my roles in previous films since all are serious ones, and I didn't smile in a single frame.
So, I decided to do a different role, and it was when Prabhuram Vyaas approached me for 'Lover'. I was committed to another film, and I heard a threat of missing 'Lover'. But the other project didn't take off during the said time, and it allowed me to act in 'Lover'. Prabhuram Vyaas has a clear vision, and he wanted me to sport a cool look, while for reference, he displayed my picture in 2017 from the television series 'Livin'. I followed some diet plans and light exercises to sport a young look and tried my best to bring Vyaas' vision to big screens", says Kanna Ravi about his character in 'Lover'.
Kanna Ravi then shared praise for his co-stars Manikandan and Gouri Priya and said, "Manikandan is a humble person, and I have known him for a long time as we worked together during our short film days. Manikandan's success is so personal to me as he is one of us, and he proved that talent matters through the success of his debut as a lead in 'Good Night'. Gouri Priya is so sweet, and she is a Telugu girl. But she has put in a lot of effort to learn and speak Tamil, and she has replicated the character well.".
"Director Prabhuram Vyaas has given a different explanation about the film's story through the teaser and trailer, but the film will narrate a different story," assures Kanna Ravi ahead of the 'Lover' release.
