‘This is a tragedy’: Teen on life support after Long Island car crash passes away

Trezza is the third victim to perish from the car crash. She was on life support with severe brain trauma, significant blood loss, and multiple broken bones, according to a GoFundMe set up for the teen.

“Bella Trezza, a 17-year-old high school senior from Long Island, NY, tragically lost her life after a car struck a vehicle that was carrying her and other student passengers,” said Leonard Achan, President and CEO of LiveOnNY. “At this moment, LiveOnNY is working with the medical and transplant community to ensure that the wishes of Bella’s family are honored. LiveOnNY is humbled to be the steward of Bella’s precious gifts of life. We extend our deepest condolences to Bella’s family, friends, loved ones, and the community.”

Trezza was picking up her brother and a few friends from a party and was driving home when the car she was driving was sideswiped by a driver allegedly running a red light, officials said.

A teen passenger in the vehicle with Trezza was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver of the other car was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Bella had been on life support with severe brain trauma, significant blood loss, and multiple broken bones before she passed, according to a GoFundMe.

Trezza’s younger brother is currently in stable condition. The status of the other two teens is unknown, but they were receiving treatment for severe injuries at a local hospital, police said.
