The

spy genre

is gaining momentum in Bollywood, fueled by the success of films like Pathaan and Tiger 3. Latest reports indicate that actress

Katrina Kaif

has voiced her interest in headlining a spin-off focused on her character Zoya.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, earlier this week, it was reported that Katrina Kaif has expressed her interest in leading a spin-off centered on her character from the Tiger franchise.

She has reportedly taken the initiative to discuss the possibility of such a project.

The report further added that Katrina also discussed the idea with

Salman Khan

, who found it to be valid and agreed with her perspective. Salman not only supports the notion of a separate franchise centered on her character but has taken the initiative to involve the

YRF team

in the discussions. The discussions were so substantial that the buzz reached

Aditya Chopra

the same night, prompting him to now consider the proposal.

Katrina Kaif opens up on how her equation with Salman Khan has evolved over the years: 'With him, every day is unexpected'

Katrina Kaif initially portrayed the character of ISI agent Zoya in the 2012 action thriller Ek Tha Tiger, directed by Kabir Khan. She reprised the role in 2017 for

Tiger Zinda Hai

, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, where she portrayed the role of Tiger's wife. Subsequently, she returned in the same character for Tiger 3.

Katrina reportedly got excited with the spinoff idea when she saw Deepika Padukone’s character in Pathaan being worked upon separately, and Alia Bhatt being in conversation for a spy project. Salman Khan has expressed his approval for the concept of a Zoya spinoff, and there's a strong possibility that developments will take shape, given his active involvement in making necessary calls. According to the report, Katrina Kaif believes that a spin-off film would better showcase her potential, and she is hopeful that the project will materialize in the near future.

However, there has been no official confirmation or denial on the same as yet.
