NEW DELHI: Four persons have been arrested near here for attempting to sell a newborn child, police said on Tuesday.
The Kunigal police filed a case following a complaint lodged by Huchcha Rangamma, who serves as the senior supervisor in the Woman and Child Welfare Department, Kunigal.
According to Rangamma's statement, an unwed woman delivered a baby boy at the Kunigal Government Hospital on February 20.
The mother, along with her partner Srinanda from Magadi Taluk who is the child's father, and Jyothi, an Anganwadi worker, conspired to sell the infant to Mubarak Pasha for Rs 60,000.
