JAMMU: A sentry at a

Udhampur

district, prompting patrols to launch a search operation in the area.
A senior police officer clarified that “it was not a terrorist attack as reported on social media”. The officer urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified posts.
On April 28, village defence guard M Sharief was killed during a shootout between terrorists and security forces in Panara village of Basantgarh.

A manhunt led to the arrest of Javed, a resident of Kathua district, on May 11 for providing logistical support to terrorists.
