Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan and her long-term boyfriend, Nupur Shikhare, are set to register their marriage on January 3, 2024. The couple will also host a reception late in the day for their close friends and family. IndiaToday.in has learnt exclusive details about their grand wedding in Udaipur.
IRA-NUPUR'S GRAND WEDDING IN UDAIPUR
Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare will get married tomorrow, January 3. They will register their marriage at a court in Mumbai between 2-4 pm. This will be followed by a grand reception at the Taj Lands End with only friends and family in attendance. The couple will then leave for Udaipur, where a grand wedding is planned. The Udaipur wedding will take place on January 8.
A day before their marriage registry, the families of the couple attended pre-wedding festivities at Nupur Shikhare's home.
IRA-NUPUR'S WEDDING RECEPTION
Ira and Nupur's Udaipur wedding will be followed by a grand reception in Mumbai on January 13. The starry reception is expected to be attended by the who's who of Bollywood. More details on the same are awaited.
On January 2, while Ira's mother Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao were seen dressed in Mahastrian attire, Ira and Aamir were clicked in casual outfits.
Ira Khan recently shared glimpses from her Maharashtrian Kelvan, a pre-wedding celebration. Photos from the event show Ira's friend-actress Mithila Palkar, Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, and their son Azad Rao Khan, apart from other family members in attendance.
AAMIR KHAN ON IRA'S WEDDING
In an interview with News18, Aamir Khan had first confirmed that the wedding will take place at the beginning of 2024. Aamir confirmed the date and said, "Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is - waise toh pet name unka naam Popoye hai (his pet name is Popeye) — he is trainer, he has arms like Popoye but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy. When Ira was battling depression, he was with her. He is really someone who has stood by her and emotionally supported her. I am happy that they are so happy together. They are very well connected, they really look after each other and care for each other."
For the unaware, Nupur is also Aamir Khan's fitness coach. Ira met him in 2020 and they immediately developed a good bond. Over the last three years, they spent quality time with each other. After being in a relationship for a long time, they decided to formalise their union and make it official.
