Nick Sirianni has NO CHANCE to remain Philadelphia Eagles head coach | Colin Cowherd NFL
In a recent episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd on October 3 , NFL insider Jordan Schultz discussed the Eagles' struggles, emphasizing that only one player can save their season: the injured A.J. Brown. He noted, “There’s a lot that has to be changed first of all when you don’t have Devon Smith and you don’t have AJ Brown, you’re going to have issues.” highlighting the need for significant changes to turn things around. According to him, “Jalen Hurts needs to be more decisive. But I think what really makes the Eagles great is the connection that he has with A.J. Brown and Devonte Smith, specifically Brown. His numbers are catastrophically different when he has A.J. Brown in the line.” During his NFL career, Hurts “has a passer rating of 94.4 with 7837 yards, 47 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 33 games with A.J. Brown.”
While, on the other side, Hurts, via StatMuse, “has a passer rating of 85.2 with 4,699 yards, 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 32 games without A.J. Brown.”
Schultz pointed out that Brown's impact on Nick Sirianni’s Eagles mirrors Christian McCaffrey's influence on the 49ers, albeit in a different role. He also noted the Eagles have become somewhat predictable offensively, ranking 18th in pre-snap motion. The biggest question now, according to Schultz, is about head coach
Nick Sirianni
, who “when things are going really well, you love Nick Sirianni. I want to get behind that guy, he’s fun to play. For when they’re not going well, you’re saying well is this guy playing Madden?”
He argues that Nick Sirianni's aggressive decision-making like opting for fourth downs instead of field goals often draws criticism. Moreover, another analyst echoed these concerns, questioning Sirianni’s coaching abilities.
Is Nick Sirianni The Most Questionable Head Coach in the NFL?
Sitting at 2-2, the Eagles are searching for ways to rebound after their Bye Week. However, their recent 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers has sparked frustration among fans and players alike. Many are calling for coach Nick Sirianni's departure, with analysts like Dan Orlovsky labeling the team as 'poorly coached.' He highlighted critical moments from Week 4, noting that the Eagles chose to throw on seven of their first nine plays without top receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, quickly falling into a 21-0 hole.
ollowing Orlovsky’s comments, radio host Craig Carton threw shade at Coach Nick Sirianni on his official X account, saying,"Nick Siriani might very well be the worst in-game head coach in the league by a mile. I wanna feel bad for Eagles’ fans but I don’t.” Could this spell the end of Nick Sirianni's tenure with the Eagles?
