NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Home and business owners can face fines if they don't shovel their sidewalks by 11 a.m. Monday morning, according to Acting Commissioner of the Sanitation Department Javier Lojan.

The winter storm officially ended at 2:30 a.m. Monday, meaning property owners have until 11 a.m. to do their part and clear off sidewalks, Lojan said.

How much snow did NYC get during the weekend storm?

If they don't, they could face fines up to $150 for a first offense. The Sanitation Department will begin issuing summonses after 11 a.m., Lojan said.

Lojan joined PIX11 News to provide updates on the city's progress.
