NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed

on Friday morning accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Several areas in and around the capital are waterlogged.
On Thursday, many areas of the capital received heavy rainfall, a much-needed break from the scorching heat.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a seven-day
weather forecast
for Delhi, indicating generally cloudy skies and varying levels of rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
According to the IMD's prediction for June 28, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected, with temperatures similar to the previous day and wind speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.
On June 29, the weather is anticipated to be slightly cooler, with a high of 36°C and a low of 28°C. The city is likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, with winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h. The temperatures will further decrease to 34°C on June 30, accompanied by moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds.
On Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that conditions favouring the further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of North India are being observed as the heatwave conditions have subsided across the country.
"Conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Rajasthan; remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, some more parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh and some parts of Haryana, some more parts of Punjab, remaining parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu during next two-three days," the IMD said.
