Delhi-NCR received incessant rainfall on Saturday morning accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
NEW DELHI: Delhi and
NCR
received incessant rainfall on Saturday morning accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Several areas in and around the capital are waterlogged.
The
India Meteorological Department
(
IMD
) had issued a yellow alert, indicating the possibility of mild to moderate rainfall.
Looking ahead to the weekend, IMD has not issued any color-coded warnings for Saturday.
However, they predict light showers and mostly overcast skies throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Weather
analysts suggest that the region may experience only patchy rain in the coming days.
"No substantial rain is expected over a few days apart from some drizzling in some areas. The
monsoon
trough is passing near Delhi, so there is additional moisture feed, and thus for next 2-3 days there are chances of patchy rain in isolated areas, but nothing substantial," said Mahesh Palawat, vice chairman, meteorology and climate change, Skymet.
IMD forecasts that the maximum and minimum temperatures will remain around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively, with the possibility of light rain and generally cloudy skies.
