Gunman on Citi Bike killed Bronx man days befor his vacation: sources

FORDHAM, the Bronx (PIX11) --- A gunman on a Citi Bike shot and killed a Bronx man days before he was supposed to go on vacation, according to police and sources.

Juan Lluverez, 35, was standing outside when the suspect rode up and shot him twice near East Burnside and Jerome avenues in Fordham at around 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg and stomach, but could not be saved, police said. Lluverez was supposed to be going away this week, sources said.

The masked shooter fled the scene after the incident. There have been no arrests.

The shooting happened in the area patrolled by the 46th Precinct, where there have been 44 shooting victims in 34 incidents this year, according to NYPD data.
