French film fest onboards Pritimoy Chakraborty as advisor

An upcoming festival of French films will see a Kolkata touch with industry veteran

receiving an invitation to join the the Advisory Council. Confirming this development,

said: “This will be a ground for me to get a better understanding of cinema and enrich myself. Hope I can contribute to the success of this cultural extravaganza, with invigorating discussions related to film selection, programming, and the overall festival experience."
Kennedy and Piravi will be screened at the festival and directors of both the films will be present for an interaction thereafter. The process of selecting the Bengali films for the festival is underway. As per Pritimony, Anil Kapoor wil be present for the inauguration of the festival on February 16. "The idea is to encourage more Indian films rto be screened at Cannes.

Sudhir Mishra

, Kalki Koechlin, Manoj Bajpayee and Farhan Akhtar might also be there as esteemed invitees of the festival,” he added.
The festival, scheduled to take place from February 16th to February 24th, is being hosted by the alliance Francaise du Bengale and is meant to be a celebration of French and Indian cinema.
“Hope I can live up to expectations and add value to the festival,” added Pritimoy.
