QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A free drop-off, pickup and waiting lot at John F. Kennedy International Airport's AirTrain JFK station was opened on Tuesday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey revealed.

The station at Lefferts Boulevard will help alleviate traffic congestion at the front of terminals during the summer, according to officials. It will allow travelers to take an AirTrain for free to the terminals. Officials said the trip would take eight minutes.
