HYDERABAD: Four members of a family died when the roof of their house collapsed in

Nagarkurnool

district on Monday.
Incessant rains led to the collapse of the

mud-house

roof in Vanapatla village at 2 am on Monday.
The family, after having dinner, went to sleep on Sunday night.

V Bhaskar

, an

auto driver

, his wife Padma, their two daughters, and their son were sleeping in the same room when the roof collapsed, resulting in the instantaneous deaths of the wife and three children.

Bhaskar

, who suffered critical injuries, was admitted to the

Govt Hospital

in Nagarkurnool.
Bhaskar’s wife, Padma, 25, two daughters, Tejaswani and

Vasantha

, aged seven and six, respectively, and a son who is less than a year old, died in the mishap. Authorities extricated the bodies from the debris and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem
