NEW DELHI: Five

army

soldiers were on early Saturday swept away in eastern

Ladakh

flash floods, according to a statement by defence officials.
Authorities recovered one body as a T-72 tank, manned by a crew consisting of a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and four other ranks, sank due to sudden surge in

water levels

. The search continues for the remaining four soldiers in the

Daulat Beg Oldie

and Nyoma-Chushul region near Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
