FBI offering $20K reward leading to arrest of man accused in Queens kidnappings

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- The New York Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information in a Queens kidnapping case, the agency announced on Friday.

Ruhel Choudhury, 34, is wanted for his alleged involvement in two kidnappings that happened on March 27, 2023, and May 11, 2023, authorities said. Choudhury, with other suspects, allegedly abducted the victims off the street and then robbed, tortured, and drugged them, authorities report.

Choudhury allegedly drove the cars used to trap and transport the victims to several locations in Queens during the kidnappings, authorities said. He's also accused of assaulting and threatening the victims.

One victim was held for ransom and sexually assaulted, authorities said.

A federal warrant was issued for Choudhury's arrest on Jan. 9, 2024, after he was charged with two counts of kidnapping and kidnapping conspiracy. The FBI warned that Choudhury is armed and considered dangerous.
