BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The family of a 38-year-old man who was found dead in his Bath Beach, Brooklyn apartment with bruising on his neck have started a GoFundMe to afford an independent autopsy.
Phill Cayenne was found unconscious in his apartment, where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD. Cayenne was last seen on Thursday leaving his apartment and returning home, only to be found dead hours later, according to the GoFundMe.
"At first, homicide detectives told my family that it seemed foul play might be the cause of death, as there were signs of bruising and wounds to his body and face," his sister Natasha John wrote on GoFundMe. "We were told his initial autopsy was ruled inconclusive."
The family said they are inconsolable and in need of answers as they raise money for the independent autopsy.
