Poonam Pandey died of cervical cancer on February 1, confirmed her manager. While the news sent shockwaves across the nation with the topic 'cervical cancer' topping social media trends, her team, in another official note, mentioned that the news was posted after confirmation from her sister. However, they are awaiting official confirmation on the matter. And now, IndiaToday.in has exclusively learnt that Poonam's sister, as well as her family members, are 'unreachable'.
POONAM'S FAMILY MISSING
Poonam Pandey's family is missing in action after her death news broke the Internet. In conversation with IndiaToday.in, a source close to the actor-model revealed that earlier this morning, they got a call from Poonam's sister, sharing the news of her death. She informed that Poonam was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After the post was published on Poonam's Instagram page, the source tried to contact the former's sister, but her phone has been unreachable ever since.
The source further added, "We tried calling Poonam’s sister after our last call with her but ever since, her phone has been switched off. Not only that, but her other family members are also not reachable. We tried to get in touch with 2-3 members from Poonam’s team as well and surprisingly everybody’s phone is either switched off or unreachable. Hence, we are also confused at this moment.”
POONAM'S TEAM'S NEW STATEMENT
After Poonam Pandey's team issued an official statement on her death, they posted a new statement. In the same, her team confirmed that the news of Poonam's death was first confirmed by her sister. However, her team is awaiting further information on the matter.
The official statement from Poonam Pandey's team reads, "This is to place on record that we have received a call from her family member ( sister ) this morning regarding her sudden demise and confirming the news ( as posted on her official Insta ID). We are awaiting further information from the family to update everyone. We will release an official statement as we receive the further update to be shared (sic)."
Work-wise, Poonam Pandey made her acting debut with 'Nasha'.
