GURGAON: A 20-year-old BTech student, who had suffered injuries in Baliawas

farmhouse brawl

died during treatment at

AIIMS

on Wednesday.
A violent brawl had erupted at the farmhouse on Jan 27 during a birthday celebration over cabs parked outside the venue, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old man and injuries to six students. So far, two people have been arrested in the case.
Gajender, a third-year student of Delhi Technological University, was allegedly hit with an iron rod on his head, leading to heavy bleeding, inspector Sunil Kumar, SHO DLF 1, said.

The youth was from Nagaur in Rajasthan," the inspector said.
According to police, a group of 30-35 students of Delhi Technological University had booked Oasis Garden to celebrate a classmate's birthday. After the party ended around midnight, some of the students booked cabs to go back to Delhi.

At least seven cabs were lined up outside the farmhouse, and a car with three youths from a nearby village got stuck behind them. It blew horn repeatedly, triggering an argument between the students and the three other youths who left the venue to return with around 50 other villagers, armed with sticks, rods and other sharp weapons. They attacked the students outside the farmhouse first and then stormed into the building as the students ran for safety.

The party organisers and farmhouse staff tried to reason with the villagers but failed to placate the mob. Praveen Dhull of Jind, who had taken the farmhouse on lease to rent it out for parties, weddings and other events, was grievously

injured

as he tried to stop villagers from going on the rampage.
Praveen and Gajender were put on life support. Praveen succumbed to injuries on Jan 28, while Gajender was shifted to AIIMS in Delhi as his condition deteriorated.
Police spokesperson Subhash Boken said an FIR on charges of murder, attempt to murder, rioting and voluntarily causing hurt was registered against Kanwar, Sumit, Manshu, Ashish, Sachin and others at DLF-1 police station on a complaint by one of the students. "So far, we have arrested Sachin (20) and Ashish (19), both residents of Bandhwari," he said.
