Dead person in sleeping bag found in Manhattan: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --A dead person in a sleeping bag was discovered in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan on Friday evening, according to police.

Police responded to a 911 call and found a dead person inside a sleeping bag a few minutes before 5 p.m. It was found near 207 East 27th St., police said.

Other details were not immediately available. Police are investigating the circumstances of the person's death.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York will determine the cause of death.
