The super-luxury purchase didn't go far. Within days police traced the Italian sports car, seized and returned it to the dealer, and recovered the Rs 3.3 crore from the dealer.
A police SIT is conducting probes into Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Ltd scam.
B Nagendra had quit as a Karnataka minister in the first week of June following allegations that funds were allegedly diverted in March-April this year.
According to sources, SIT arrested Satyanarayana Varma (36) in Hyderabad on June 13. Police seized Rs 8.2 crore in cash which allegedly belonged to the corporation. Later, it brought him to Bengaluru and interrogated him. SIT officials said Varma had played a key role in the scam.
