Notre Dame's Pro Day took place on Thursday, March 27th, and among those in attendance is Indianapolis Colts' head coach Shane Steichen, according to Jake Arthur of Horseshoe Huddle.
Arthur also mentioned that special teams coordinator Brian Mason and Midwest area scout Mike Lacy are also in attendance.
Pro Days provide draft prospects with another opportunity to meet with teams and to go through measurements, on-field athletic testing, and position-specific drills.
In one way or another, the Colts are going to have representatives at most Pro Days, but it's always particularly noteworthy when the head coach or coordinators are in attendance.
So far, #Colts-wise, I’ve seen HC Shane Steichen, STC Brian Mason, and Midwest area scout Mike Lacy here at the Notre Dame pro day. pic.twitter.com/bCCTlgbw3J
— Jake Arthur (@JakeArthurNFL) March 27, 2025When it comes to who the Colts might have had some extra eyes on, well, there are quite a few players who could be on their radar.
Notre Dame's top two prospects on PFF's big board are safety Xavier Watts and cornerback Benjamin Morrison. With the additions of Cam Bynum and Charvarius Ward in free agency, the secondary is no longer a pressing need for the Colts, but additions, particularly at safety where depth is still a need, could be justified.
Along the defensive line, where the Colts need to bolster their depth at both the end and tackle positions, Rylie Mills and RJ Oden are two names to know.
Tight end Mitchell Evans may not be an early-round option, but given the level of need at this position, tight end is one where the Colts could double-dip.
With a need at linebacker, Jack Kiser is another name to watch, as is quarterback Riley Leonard. For a Colts team under Steichen that has traditionally carried three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, Leonard would provide them with a developmental option on the back end of the depth chart.
