USC projected to land Penn State transfer linebacker in the spring portal

8 hours ago 3

When Lincoln Riley discussed USC’s needs in the spring transfer portal window recently, he mentioned linebacker as an area in particular that the Trojans would be looking to add. Now, it appears as though the Trojans and linebacker coach Rob Ryan may be getting some reinforcements at the position. On Monday morning, On3 projected USC to land Penn State transfer linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson.

Robinson originally signed with the Nittany Lions as a four-star recruit in the class of 2023. In two years on campus, he appeared in 15 games—primarily on special teams—and recorded 13 tackles.

Adding Robinson would certainly be a major boost to a USC linebacker room that lacks significant returning production. With Easton Mascarenas-Arnold and Mason Cobb both moving on, the Trojans do not have a ton of experience at the position outside of Eric Gentry.

USC is currently entering its final week of spring practice. The Trojans will not hold a traditional spring game this year, instead wrapping up spring ball in unceremonious fashion on Saturday.
