WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Violence was brewing in a Washington Heights coffee shop Tuesday morning.
Surveillance video showed the chaotic scene when a man ran into Milo Coffee in Washington Heights after being stabbed; workers and the manager of the coffee shop sprung into action to help the 39-year-old man.
Juan Reyes, the manager, picked up a chair to defend the man and got the attackers out of the shop. Another employee jumped over the counter to help as well. Reyes is being called a hero for helping the man.
Police said the man being attacked ran into the store on 181 Street from across the bridge in the Bronx.
Reyes, who only speaks Spanish, said he grabbed what he could to help and would do it again if he had to.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, according to officials.
Police said the group got away.
