CHENNAI: The
Greater Chennai Corporation
on Tuesday removed close to 10 tonne of
waste
from the
Thiruvanmiyur Beach
. GCC
commissioner Dr J Radhakrishnan, who inspected the beach, said despite keeping 58 bins and appealing to people to throw them in the bins, people still littered. "We also conducted a vacant plot garbage and debris removal drive. Owners were advised to monitor their plots and prevent them from becoming a dumping ground for neighbours," he added.
