CBSE Board exam 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the

Standard Operating Procedures

and

guidelines

for the upcoming CBSE

Class 10

, 12 board exam 2024.
Earlier, CBSE had issued dates for practical exams and

internal assessments

separately for regular session schools, and winter bound schools. The board has instructed to carry it out as mentioned below:

Recently, in a letter to principals, school heads of affiliated institutions the guidelines for the Practical exam 2024 was released.

The notice states,"To bring in uniformity of instructions and to ensure the correctness of procedures 'Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessment' of both the classes have been prepared by the Board." The notice also adds that no correction in the uploaded marks will be allowed by the board.

Practical exam SOP and guidelines
The notification provides specific instructions for conduction of practical exams for Class 10 and

class 12

students:

  • Practical examination marks must be uploaded simultaneously, starting from the dates of exam commencement and completed by the last date of the respective class.
  • For Class 10, the Board will not provide practical answer books; schools need to make their own arrangements. Once the exams are over, the practical answer books of the students are not required to be sent to the regional office.
  • The Board will appoint external examiners for practical exams and project assessments in specific subjects.
  • Payments for duty-assigned individuals will be made through the Integrated Payment System, unless otherwise instructed.
  • If schools fail to comply with the Board's directions, the Board reserves its right to cancel the practical examination.
  • The marks for Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments for private students will be awarded according to the Board's policy as per Examination Bye-laws. If re-conduction is required, it will also follow the Board's policy.
  • For regular students sponsored through list of candidates of Classes X and XII, Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments will be conducted based on the eligibility/bonafide status of the student(s). In case any student's name is missing from the subject list, schools should promptly contact the regional office.
