CBI registers case against Haryana education officials over fake student admissions & fund siphoning

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (

CBI

) has registered a case against officials of the Primary Education Department in Haryana, alleging the fake admission of 4,00,000 students in

government schools

across the state between 2014 and 2016. According to officials, the scheme involved siphoning off funds in the name of these non-existent students.
