Global sensation BTS continues its unstoppable momentum despite ongoing enlistment periods in the South Korean military. Following RM’s second solo project, and a chart-topping single from Jungkook, Jimin has just dropped a new single, ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band,’ featuring rapper Loco. The single serves as a sneak-peek into Jimin’s upcoming second solo project, MUSE, scheduled to be released on July 19.

The term “smeraldo” refers to a fictional flower that appeared in the BTS Universe, where various storylines unfolded through songs, music videos, and supplementary materials. BigHit Music described the song as, “Referencing the fictional flower 'Smeraldo,' which symbolizes 'the truth untold,' the lyrics tenderly express the longing to confess and find love on behalf of those unable to articulate their feelings.”

The song's title, ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band,’ pays homage to Jimin’s long-time co-producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN. According to a statement by BigHit Music, these producers branded themselves as the ‘Smeraldo Marching Band’ during the production of Jimin’s first solo effort, signifying their unified movement as a team.

In contrast to the intense vibe of Jimin’s pre-released single off FACE, ‘Set Me Free Pt.2,’ ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’ brings a brighter, cheerier offering with its lively brass ensemble. The lyrics, “I’ll come closer to you, I love you, babe/ I want you, babe/ I wanna hold your hand,” demonstrate Jimin’s heartfelt sentiments in the new single.

Even though Jimin and his bandmates RM, SUGA, V, and Jungkook still have time left in their military service, BTS’s eldest member, Jin, has finished his service and returned to civilian life on the 11th anniversary of BTS. Furthermore, J-hope is scheduled to complete his military duty this October.
