CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot in Brooklyn Thursday night, according to the NYPD.

Shots rang out near St. Marks Avenue and Bergen Street around 10:30 p.m., police said. The boy, identified by police as Troy Gill, was discovered by officers with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, according to authorities.

Police said he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Sources told PIX11 News that Gill was on his way home from a Nets game when he was shot.

It's the third fatal shooting in Crown Heights this week alone. A deli worker was shot to death on Monday after he refused to buy a cigar for a customer, according to authorities.
