BJP’s Annamalai to study in Oxford University for a few months

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu BJP vice-president Karu Nagarajan on Tuesday confirmed the visit of BJP state president

to Oxford University.
There were reports that

Annamalai

has been selected for the

Chevening Gurukul Fellowship

for Leadership and Excellence programme offered by the Oxford University and he will be attending the course from September to December. Only 12 people have been selected from India, and Annamalai is one among them.
Confirming the reports, Nagarajan, speaking to reporters in Kamalalayam, said, "We are happy that our state president has been selected for the scholarship."
When asked whether a state president (in-charge) would be appointed, Nagarajan aid that it was up to the party leadership to decide.

There were reports that Annamalai had sought permission from the party leadership in Delhi to attend the three-months programme and to appoint an in-charge in his absence.
