NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Legendary actor Bill Murray will perform in a free, adapted showing of "An Enemy of the People" in Times Square Wednesday evening alongside a star-studded cast.

The performance will start at 6 p.m. on the red stairs at Seventh Avenue and 47th Street and will also be livestreamed on Zoom. The show will be free but requires registration.

Murray will be joined on stage by "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" actress Kathryn Erbe, "Orange is the New Black" star Taylor Schilling and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. Nate Smith, who once disrupted an "An Enemy of the People" performance, will also perform in Times Square, according to The New York Times.

The actors will perform scenes from "An Enemy of the People," now in its final weeks on Broadway starring Jeremy Strong and Michael Imperioli. The show, originally written in 1882, takes on climate change and is reimagined in Wednesday's performance to fit contemporary political conversations, organizers said.

During Wednesday's performance, activists with Extinction Rebellion and other climate organizations will participate as actors, adlibbing and reacting in real time, according to organizers.
