NEW DELHI:
Bayley
emerged victorious in the Women’s
Royal Rumble
, securing her spot at WWE
WrestleMania 40
with a well-deserved title shot. Following this triumph, she shared her thoughts on the win and the evolution of WWE’s Women’s Division.
During the WWE Royal Rumble post-show press conference, Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report asked Bayley to describe where this win ranked among her accomplishments.
Reflecting on her journey, Bayley expressed, “It’s pretty crazy. I have to tell a lot of the girls that were, their first two rumbles or so, that didn’t last as long or anything, I’m like, trust me, I’ve been there.”
Bayley recalled her earlier experiences in the Royal Rumble, emphasizing the challenges and growth she faced throughout her career. “My first Rumble, I think I was number twenty-six, and I was out in like three minutes or something. I’ve been number one and I haven’t won. I’ve been number seventeen or something and haven’t won. It’s honestly just such a ride.”
Acknowledging the importance of consistency and envisioning the bigger picture, Bayley highlighted her evolution from the early years on the main roster to her recent accomplishment. She remarked, “For me, to then, I don’t want to sound too cheesy, like just hang in there, but from the first Rumble that we’ve had, to one of my first one or two years on the main roster, to now, where we are, it’s all about consistency and just seeing the bigger picture.”
Bayley also commented on the depth of WWE’s Women’s Division, noting that the company opted not to bring in any legends for the Royal Rumble. She expressed admiration for the diverse talent within the division, stating, “If you get stuck in all the dips and swerves and everything that this business throws at you, I could have never done what I did tonight. I could have given up so long ago. So such a difference, man. We have such a different crew. There’s no legends coming in because there’s so many women out there that we need to showcase. So it’s beautiful.”
