Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody extended till July 25 in CBI's corruption case

Hours after the Supreme Court's granted interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi court on Friday extended the Chief Minister's judicial custody till July 25 in a CBI corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy case.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped excise policy .

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta referred Arvind Kejriwal's petition challenging his arrest in the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to a larger bench.

While citing section 19 of the PMLA, the apex court framed three questions related to the power, necessity, policy of arrest by the ED and stated Kejriwal would be released on interim bail under the conditions outlined in the May 10 order.

The chief minister was arrested on March 21 by the ED in the money laundering case. Kejriwal was also arrested by the CBI on June 26 in connection with the corruption case related to the alleged excise policy.

The matter pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, which has since been scrapped.
