'Personal animosity behind attack'
The incident took place near Vijaypura village in Kotputli-Behror district. The attackers had intercepted the vehicle in which Khan was travelling. A badly injured Khan was rushed to SMS Hospital and provided urgent medical attention, but he succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning, said Alwar SP Anand Sharma.
A case has been registered against the named accused, including Irfan, Akbar, Akram, Dilawar, Akkha, Wasim and others from Belaka village, and an extensive hunt is on to arrest the accused, he added. Meanwhile, police have provided security to Yaseen Khan's family.

A respected figure in Alwar, Khan was known for his private bus and transport agency business. He had been a dedicated member of BJP for over two decades and was considered an influential Muslim leader in the saffron party. He played a significant role in strengthening BJP's minority front in Alwar district.
Police said personal animosity stemming from a family dispute with some individuals from Belaka village was behind the attack on Khan. There were two previous incidents involving altercations between the two sides, said a police official.

In Nov 2023, Khan's nephew, Aksad, was brutally assaulted near the RSS office in Alwar city by some men from Belaka village, resulting in fractured limbs. That incident had resulted from a prior confrontation during a wedding ceremony, where Khan's elder brother had reprimanded one of the accused individuals, sparking the ongoing animosity, he added.
In Jan 2024, Khan's family members had caught hold of an accused from Belaka village and broken his limbs at Hanuman Circle.
