On the external walls of Goa’s biggest church, a 3D projection of the history of the Exposition

Panaji: In a first, pilgrims attending the

Exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier

at Old Goa will be able to watch a three-dimensional digital projection on the exterior walls of the

Se Cathedral

that will include stories of culture and heritage to connect with the Exposition’s history and identity at a deeper level.
A senior govt official said the concept is designed in such a way that the storytelling design will evoke emotions, trigger memories, and challenge perceptions through striking visuals. “The project proposes that the side of Se Cathedral that faces the garden of the churches, be used as a canvas to create the

3D digital projection

. The period of display will be for seven days from Dec 24 to 30, with a five-to-seven-minute

animated content creation

that will be played every 30 minutes from 7pm to 10pm,” the official said.
“Animated creative content will be synced with sounds to achieve a seamless and high-impact presentation. Trussing for speakers on either side will be placed and care will be taken to ensure that Se Cathedral is not touched in any way, or no support is taken from the building whatsoever,” the official said.
The garden will have a stage constructed and angled in such a way that the stage’s backdrop will be Se Cathedral’s wall on which the digital projection will take place. “The

digital mapping

concept will effectively tell a story by transforming a surface into an animated narrative. It will draw the audience in, capturing their attention and fostering emotional connections with the content,” the official said.
