NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Chef and owner of The Hungry Gnome, Danielle Sepsy, joins PIX11 to share her recipe for peanut butter wings that you can easily prepare for that special dad this upcoming Father’s Day.

Peanut Butter Wings Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large Shallot, diced finely
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of Olive oil
- 3 tablespoons of packed dark brown sugar
- ½ cup of Hot sauce (Ideally Frank’s Red Hot)
- 1/3 cup Creamy Peanut butter
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Low sodium Soy sauce
- 1 ½ Tablespoons fresh Lime Juice
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (from a can)
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan sweat your shallots until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Whisk in the hot sauce, dark brown sugar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, and honey. Cook over low heat for about 3 minutes or until the sugar starts to dissolve and everything is blended.
- Whisk in the Peanut butter and simmer for about 5 minutes or until combined.
- Whisk in the coconut milk and simmer for 5-7 minutes
- Add in the lime juice and add black pepper to taste. Set sauce aside while you make your wings.
- Season your wings with Salt and Pepper and then air fry, deep fry or bake. You can even use frozen, pre-cooked (un-sauced) wings or crispy tenders.
- Chicken should be cooked to 165F.
- When the wings are done toss them in the peanut butter sauce and then serve with the strawberry ranch sauce on the side for dipping! Option to sprinkle the sauced wings with chopped roasted peanuts.
Strawberry Jalapeno Ranch Dipping Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 7 slices of pickled jalapeño ( or 1 tablespoon of fresh jalapeño diced finely)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1.5 teaspoons dill
- Dash Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of Strawberry Preserves
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients except for the chives to a food processor.
- Blend until combined and smooth.
- Fold in the chives and refrigerate until ready to serve.
