A literary high: Housing Works Cannabis Co. rolls out 'Weed & Read’ program

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Have you ever wanted to experience a literary high, well now you can.  

Housing Works Cannabis Co. is rolling out its ‘Weed & Read’ program. An exclusive monthly box that offers a carefully curated menu of cannabis products that are paired with a book.

Each box will feature a book and items curated in collaboration with the author.

For February, which is Blach History Month, the dispensary chose “Black, Girl Call Home” by Jasmine Mans. Mans’ is also the founder of Buy Weed From Women, a product design house that advocates for supporting women entrepreneurs, prison reform, and the legalization of cannabis. 

Housing Works Cannabis Co. released the lineup for upcoming months, and plans for the program to run until the end of the year:

February  

Black, Girl Call Home” by Jasmine Mans 

March  

Mudane’s World” by Judy Grahn 

Grahn's book will be included in the box for Women’s History Month. The box will also feature cannabis products by female-owned brands.  

April

Women & Weed” by Elana Frankel  

Frankle will also be curating a menu of women-owned products included inside the box.  

May 

Runner’s High” by Josiah Hesse 

Hesse will be donating copies of his book and curating a selection of products focused on cannabis items focused on runners.  

The schedule and items are subject to change.
