NEW YORK (PIX11) – Mayor Eric Adams is facing a federal indictment on criminal charges, officials announced on Thursday.

The embattled 110th mayor of New York City vowed to fight against the indictment, saying he does not plan to resign.

“From here, my attorneys will take care of the case so I can take care of the city,” said Adams outside Gracie Mansion. “My day-to-day will not change. I will continue to do the job for 8.3 million New Yorkers that I was elected to do.”

Adams was charged with accepting bribes and illegal campaign contributions from foreign sources stemming from his 2021 mayoral campaign.

The bribes included luxury travel benefits Adams allegedly accepted from 2016 to 2021 valued at over $123,000, according to the indictment. Not all of the benefits were disclosed.
