3 stabbed in East Village, 1 victim critically injured: NYPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Three people were rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in the East Village on Sunday evening, police say.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls for various people stabbed on East 14th Street and Avenue A. Three people were discovered with stab wounds, police said.

At least one victim, who was stabbed in the neck, is listed as critically injured, according to authorities. The other two victims were both stabbed in the leg and are expected to recover from their injuries. All three victims were rushed to Bellvue Hospital.

A handful of cops, two police vehicles, and one FDNY truck are at the scene. A video in Citizen shows that the area had been tapped off from the public.

One person was taken in police custody as a person of interest, police say.
