POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 2.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in the Poughkeepsie area early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The United States Geological Survey recorded the minor earthquake around 3:02 a.m. between Sheafe Road and Camelot Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie, according to Dutchess County Emergency Management.
“Residents in this vicinity may have felt or heard abnormalities during this time period,” Dutchess County Emergency Management officials said.
In April, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake shook the tri-state area. With its epicenter in New Jersey, it was the largest earthquake to happen near New York City in 140 years.
