SPRINGFIELD GARDENS, Queens (PIX11) – An 18-year-old faces multiple charges in connection with a deadly shooting in front of a fast food restaurant.
Rayvon Phillip was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon after 18-year-old Akim Cisse was shot and killed in front of a McDonald’s on Sep. 27, prosecutors say.
According to court documents, Cisse was in the passenger seat of a car that drove past the McDonalds on South Conduit Avenue. Authorities say that’s when surveillance video shows Phillip firing into the vehicle three times.
Cisse was shot once in the back of the head and transported to a local hospital where he lost brain function, prosecutors say.
“This was a completely senseless act of gun violence, and we will aggressively investigate and prosecute those that destabilize our communities,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
If convicted Phillip could face up to 25-years-to-life in prison.
