third round of the

after a hard-fought victory over the 15th seeds, Austin Krajicek from the USA and Jean-Julien Roger from the Netherlands.
The Indo-French team secured a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win in a match that lasted two hours and five minutes on Friday. This marks Bhambri's second time reaching the third round of a Grand Slam, his first being at the Australian Open in 2014.
Meanwhile veteran Rohan Bopanna also advanced to the third round with his Australian partner, Matthew Ebden.

The second seeds won their match against Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena and Federico Coria of Argentina with a convincing 6-2, 6-4 scoreline.
Bopanna continued his strong performance in the mixed doubles category. Teaming up with Indonesian player Aldila Sutjiadi, the eighth-seeded pair won their opening-round match 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) against Germany's Tim Puetz and Dutch player Demi Schuurs.

However, N Sriram Balaji of India and his Argentine partner Guido Andreozzi were not as fortunate. They exited the US Open after losing their second-round match to New Zealand’s Michael Venus and Great Britain’s Neal Skupski. The Indo-Argentine pair fell 6-7 (4), 4-6 in a match that had just one service break in the second set.
Despite multiple break point opportunities, Balaji and Andreozzi could not seize theirs, with Venus and Skupski successfully converting one out of seven chances they received.
"The first step is to consistently play at this level. It's starting from here. Now the next step is to get my ranking higher slowly," Balaji told PTI, reflecting upon his campaign.
"Game wise I'm feeling confident and moving in the right direction. I also have to keep working on certain aspects of my game and keep getting better. This year the main difference was a coach/trainer travelling with me almost every other week, thanks to the doubles program," he said.
